PLEASE NOTE: THE YULE LOGS WE POST OUT WILL NOT FEATURE THE HOLLY LEAF AND BERRY DECORATION ON TOP! To help them arrive in one piece, the yule logs will have some plastic spacers on the top and sides. To serve your yule log, simply dip a knife in boiling water to heat it up and then you can use it to smooth over the buttercream where necessary.
When I style it at home, I like to sieve a little icing sugar on top of it, decorate the top with fresh Holly (believe it or not, it's edible! Not that you'd necessarily want to eat a Holly leaf, but I just lay them on top because they look so beautiful. As a random fact about Holly leaves, i paint them with melted chocolate to use as a mould to make chocolate leaves!
